Sarah Walsh: One Day Better

Sarah Walsh’s twitter profile identifies her as a “Matilda at heart” but “Walshy” is so much more than a footballer and has become surely one of the most influential women in the game.

Debuting in 2004 in New Zealand, Sarah Walsh appeared 76 times for the Matildas including being part of the Championship-winning 2010 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.

Walsh’s last played international football 8+ years ago (19 Sep 2012) in a friendly against the United States. Since then she has made a terrific contribution to football and is currently the Head of Women’s Football in Australia.

Walsh also played for Sky Blue FC in 2009 before winning the W-League title with Sydney FC in Season 2009/2010, later playing for the Western Sydney Wanderers.
